ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG AND OLD
Carrières des Lumières, an immersive experience
The former quarries used to build the castle and the village of Les Baux have been transformed over time into an exceptional cultural venue. In the 1960s, Jean Cocteau used the quarries as a filming location for one of his movies, The Testament of Orpheus. Then, in 1977, the site began hosting audiovisual shows.

These sound-and-light exhibitions projected onto the quarry walls are hugely successful. Whatever the theme, the result is always spectacular and mesmerizing.
Tintin, Arcimboldo, Van Gogh, the programm is eclectic and captivates both adults and children alike !
Since then, the concept has expanded across France, with similar immersive shows appearing in other cities.
Visiting Les Baux-de-Provence with family

👉 An Escape Game in the castle : fun and educational, allowing the whole family to learn about history while solving riddles.

👉 A kid’s paper chase through the village streets : free download here or from the tourist office
