Saint-Tropez isn’t just the jet-set capital ! It’s also a postcard destination, with golden sandy beaches bathed in sunshine and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Iconic or more secret, here is our ranking of the most beautiful beaches in Saint-Tropez and Ramatuelle.
For everyone, Saint-Tropez instantly feels like a holiday destination. Living just 1.5 hours away, we love escaping to this stunning region whenever the weather turns warm. We usually spend the day by the sea and end it with a stroll through the village. When we’re not lounging on the beach, we often go paddleboarding along this typical stretch of the French Riviera coastline. If you’re lucky enough to spend your holidays at Saint-Tropez and surroundings, these dreamy fine-sand beaches are perfect for chilling and recharging your batteries.
While Saint-Tropez is best known for its glamorous image and famous french figures, from Brigitte Bardot to Françoise Sagan, you’ll quickly fall in love with the relaxed lifestyle of the region. The landscapes are exceptional, and even a weekend here feels like a true escape. Since these paradise spots get very busy in summer, we recommend visiting in spring or autumn if possible.

Where to Stay in Saint-Tropez
Hotels in Saint-Tropez are, unsurprisingly, quite expensive. To keep your budget under control, it’s better to stay in nearby towns such as Cogolin or Plan-de-la-Tour.
And now, let’s get to the ranking ! From small city beaches to vast bays and wild coves, here are the most beautiful beaches in and around Saint-Tropez.
1. BONPORTEAU BAY, A NATURAL BEAUTY (Ramatuelle)
♥️ What we love : A stunning and wild landscape, crystal-clear water and white sand that gives the sea a Caribbean-like turquoise color. Along the coastal path starting from l’Escalet, you’ll discover small sandy coves and smooth, rounded rocks perfect for relaxing. You’ll come across “plage de l’Amour”, “Douane cove and beach” and “Ranc beach” one after another. Even though boats are numerous in summer, this place remains a true Mediterranean gem. We regularly paddleboard along this part of the coast and it’s always breathtaking.
💡 Did you know ? From Cap Taillat, you’ll enjoy an impressive panoramic view over Bonporteau Bay.
👉 Practical info : Access on foot from l’Escalet Beach via the coastal path (about 30 minutes) / Access by sea (paddleboard or boat) / Free shuttle buses from Ramatuelle to l’Escalet, then a 30-minute walk. Day catamaran cruises for the journey available along the coast.

2. L’ESCALET BEACH, A LITTLE SLICE OF PARADISE (Ramatuelle)

L’Escalet is perfect for relaxing or snorkeling. Despite its popularity, it keeps its natural charm and authenticity in every season.

The water is beautiful, the beach well maintained, and the overall vibe screams “vacation.” It’s a perfect mix of relaxation and fun, making it a must in our top 10 ! Adventurers can also join a guided kayaking tour from Pampelonne. You will explore the Ramatuelle nature reserve with panoramic views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

5. TAHITI BEACH, THE LEGENDARY ONE (Ramatuelle)
♥️ What we love: : More intimate than Pampelonne but still spacious, with fine sand and azur-blue water reminiscent of Tahiti. Palm trees, umbrella pines and lush vegetation add to its charm. Located at the northern end of Pampelonne Bay, its waters are deeper, and a wooden pier offers great photo opportunities. Perfect if you enjoy lounging on a sunbed with a cocktail in hand. Some of Saint-Tropez’s oldest and most famous private beach clubs are located here.
🤓 Did you know ? Tahiti Beach is the starting point of the coastal path leading to “Les Salins” beach and beyond, with hidden sandy spots like “La Garrigue” beach along the way.
👉 Practical info : Large paid parking area / Beach cleaning / Beach facilities / Bars and restaurants.

6. CANOUBIERS BEACH, CHARMING AND PEACEFUL (Saint-Tropez)
♥️ What we love : A small bay of fine sand and turquoise water, more natural and quieter than nearby beaches. You may encounter sea grass (posidonia), but the peaceful setting and the views over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez are beautiful. It’s also the starting point of a beautiful coastal walk toward “Les Salins” beach. A perfect place to relax, especially at sunset.
🤓 Did you know ? La Madrague is also located in this bay. It is the home where lived a famous french actress, Brigitte Bardot.
👉 Practical info : Free roadside parking / Public showers and toilets / Supervised swimming in season / Sailing school and restaurant nearby.

7. Les SALINS BEACH, AUTHENTIC AND LOCAL (Saint-Tropez)
♥️ What we love : Both wild and family-friendly, this is the locals’ favorite beach. Surrounded by pine trees, sand dunes and salt marshes, it offers a peaceful and preserved natural setting. Often windy, it’s ideal for water sports. You can enjoy lunch at the beachfront restaurant with your feet in the sand.

8. La BOUILLABAISSE BEACH, EASY AND ACCESSIBLE (Saint-Tropez)
♥️ What we love : A large sandy bay lined with bars and restaurants, offering great views of the Maures Mountains. The water is shallow and calm, perfect for swimming and relaxing.
🤓 Did you know ? Located just outside Saint-Tropez, it’s the closest beach to the town center. You can walk between the village and the beach in 15–20 minutes along the seafront.
👉 Practical info : Limited free parking / Water sports available / Showers and restrooms / Supervised swimming in season.

9. LA MOUTTE BEACH, SECRET AND WILD (Saint-Tropez)
♥️ What we love : A 300-meter-long sandy beach surrounded by reeds, about 5 km from the town center. Completely wild and peaceful, it’s ideal for escaping the crowds. Perfect for a refreshing swim after hiking the Canoubiers coastal trail. However, it can be windy and sometimes covered with posidonia.
🤓 Did you know ? Just offshore, you can spot the tiny Croisette Island.
👉 Practical info : Limited but free parking / Access via Chemin des Treilles de la Moutte, followed by a short footpath.

10. GRANIERS BEACH, RIGHT NEXT TO SAINT-TROPEZ
♥️ What we love : Located just 500 meters from the village, this small sheltered beach lies between the Citadel and lush vegetation. The water is clear and fish are often visible. There are shaded spots and a beachfront restaurant. A convenient place for a relaxing day close to town.
🤓 Did you know ? We find that Graniers Beach sometimes lacks maintenance and feels less authentic than others, which is why it ranks last in our list.
👉 Practical info : Free parking near the cemetery below the Citadel / Beach restaurant “Les Graniers” serving seafood right by the water.
– Our Opinion –
This list is, of course, not exhaustive. There are many other beautiful beaches in and around Saint-Tropez. If we had to choose just one, Pampelonne beach would be our top pick thanks to its size, beauty, facilities and wide range of beach bars and restaurants.
However, if you’re like us and prefer quieter, more unspoiled spots, l’Escalet beach and Bonporteau Bay are absolute musts. Crystal-clear water, idyllic scenery and a true sense of escape await you.
And you, which Saint-Tropez beach would you have added to this top 10 ? Let us know!
